friends for five years?

I met up with one of my best pals today.

We had coffee in Café Nero and then had a look in Waterstones and WHSmith, Callan got a McDonalds to cure his hangover and then we left town. It's so lovely to spend time together and even though we don't see each other all the time, it's still so nice to have friends in your life that you can just pick up where you left off and reminisce about the old times like me and Callan do. You can say that like the old times were a million years ago when in reality they were only five years ago. And it's weird how once you meet someone and become friends with them, you can never not know them and then they share a part of your life no matter how big or small.

nostalgia nos·tal·gi·a
1. A bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past.
2. The condition of being homesick; homesickness.

There is a lot of memories and things that we share together, me and Callan. Most of it that nobody else would understand unless they were either one of us or one of our friends that shared it with us. Sometimes I'm not sure we understand why we did the things that we did and why we find them funny. We used to be so odd, but it's shaped our friendship into what it is today.

It's nice to get together and think about the past, but it's also really nice to think towards the future. Sharing what we want to accomplish and where we want to be is what friends are for because you know, we can egg each other on and think 'you wanted to do that thing and now you're doing that thing, and that's awesome.'

A friend that has been there through everything, a friend that you don't speak to all the time but is still one of your best friends, a friend who you accepts you for who you are, that's a friend for life.

Also this video that we filmed back in 2013 still makes me laugh to this day. #prettycushion.

I hope you've all had a fabulous weekend, make sure to let your friends know that you love them.

Love, Danielle ♡
