The sound of a fire crackling. Cosy socks and slippers keeping your feet warm. A hot drink to warm your hands. Snacks to keep you going through the movie night, sweet popcorn and lots and lots of chocolate. Clean Christmas pajamas that are so cosy you don't ever want to take them off, ever. A dressing gown to top it off. A blanket, preferably fluffy to keep you nice and cosy when the fire dies down. A cold night outside, maybe snowing, or raining, making you think you're glad to be inside. Someone you love to cuddle up to. A pet by your side to keep you warm. Christmas scented candles and fairy lights to set the scene.

But what are you going to watch on this cold December evening? Here's what I would be watching...
  • Love Actually
  • The Polar Express
  • Home Alone
  • The Holiday
  • Elf
I'll see you tomorrow with another blogmas post!

Last night was my Christmas party with everyone I work with, we went to The Swan at Salford in Milton Keynes and we all enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal with plenty of prosecco, I can assure you. Today's post is just going to be some pictures that we took before we went out, andmy outfit details will be below. Hope you enjoy!

Dress - River Island
Shoes - Primark (old ones again, ha soz)

Happy Saturday everyone! Today is the day of my works Christmas party so I'll be getting on the wine tonight, I'm sure. The outfit details of what I wear tonight, will be in tomorrow's post. But today's post is more important right now, as this is what you're reading. Today's post is all about my advent calendars of this year which is just groundbreaking. I mean just call the press cos they obvo want to know

I do have two this year, which is more than I usually have but this year I've got my first beauty advent calendar!! Many thanks to my mum, who bought it for me as an early Christmas present. I haven't really ever gotten on the hype of the beauty advent calendars before, mainly because they're always sold out when I go look, ahem... but this year I'm very excited to open this calendar in particular.

My beauty advent calendar is the Girl O'Clock Rock calendar from Benefit. I'm super excited to have this as my first beauty calendar because I LOVE Benefit make-up so much, and I do always seem to get it around Christmas time haha, so very excited for this one. There's only twelve days of this calendar so I'm going to actually start opening this one when the 12 Days of Christmas begins. And then my chocolate advent calendar is Cadbury's Dairy Milk because, I mean, is there any other chocolate calendar worth having?! the answer is no...

I hope you enjoyed today's blogmas, I know it's a super short one... but now you know what I'm going to be opening every morning throughout December. Also I've put myself on a chocolate ban as of December 1st, but the advent calendar chocolate definitely don't count. They just don't.

I'll see you tomorrow with another post!

Stay Festive!

Today's just a quick little post for ya, my Christmas Playlist - and I can assure you I've most definitely been listening to these songs since the start of November, as soon as Hallowe'en was out of the way, these ultimate tunes were most definitely blasting out of the speakers in my car. I also purchased Michael Buble's Christmas album, what an absolute babe, his voice is how I would imagine Christmas would sound like if it was a person and if they could sing. Also another od my fave CD's, because my car's not fancy enough to have bluetooth and do I have enough space on my phone to store songs? Absolutely not, so I like to listen to the Now That's What I Call Christmas CD (which comes with three discs but I play like the first five songs on repeat, lols.) Enjoy this blogmas post and let me know what your fave Christmas song is.

All I Want for Christmas is You - Mariah Carey
Mistletoe - Justin Bieber
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Michael Buble
Last Christmas - Wham!
Jingle Bell Rock - Daryl Hall and John Oates
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Christina Aguilera
Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin' Stevens
Fairytale of New York - The Pogues ft Kirsty MacCall
Do They Now It's Christmas - Band Aid 2014
All I Want Is You - Justin Bieber
Step into Christmas - Elton John
Happy Xmas (War is Over) - Celine Dion
Like I'm Gonna Lose You - Meghan Trainor
Baby It's Cold Outside - Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
Driving Home for Christmas - Chris Rea
I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday - Wizzard
Santa Baby - Kylie Minogue
White Christmas - Bing Crosby
It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year - Andy Williams
Winter Wonderland - Michael Buble

Let me know what you're listening to!
And I'll see you tomorrow with another blogmas!

Stay Festive!

It's the first of December!! Which means the first day of Blogmas!!

Finally it's time for everyone to start being festive, because apparently November is too early for some people to get excited for Christmas... Christopher John, I'm looking at you. So now everyone can get into the Christmas spirit and you'll be seeing plenty of me around here for the next 24 days, so what better way to start Blogmas than with a Christmas tag? Urrrrrr, there isn't one FYI. Also if you are doing blogmas aswell tweet me your blog links, I can't wait to read everyone else's festive posts! And if you're not a HUGE Christmas fan like I am, probably best to avoid my blog like the plague. The Festive Plague.

❄ What is your favourite Christmas film? My favourite Christmas film without a doubt is Love Actually. Hands down, Thomas Brodie-Sangster (who plays Sam) just gets me everytime. SO CUTE. I still fancy him even now. *heart eyed emoji* but no Love Actually is such a lovely film to watch, and it's just so good. There is a top five fave films coming up soon in my blogmas, so keep ya peepers peeled.

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? We always open our presents on Christmas morning, who even opens them on Christmas Eve???? There's just no fun in that, unless I suppose the exception would be Christmas PJ's.

❆ Do you have a favourite Christmas memory? I don't have a particular favourite because I just love Christmas, so I love it all!!
❆ Favourite festive food? Obvo pigs in blankets and the amount of stuffing that you get for Christmas dinner. And all the chocolate. Roses, Quality Street, Celebrations, Family Circle biscuits... all festive food is my favourite. I just love food.

Favourite Christmas gift? My favourite Christmas gift from when I was younger was deffo Baby Anabelle... and I got a Baby Anabelle crib too. That was a bloody good year.

❆ Favourite Christmas scent? It's not Christmas without a festive scent from Yankee Candles, I love their candles so much and this was the first candle I ever bought and it's a Christmas one.
❆ Any Christmas Eve traditions? When I was younger we used to have a buffet dinner and watch TV before going to bed after putting a mince pie and some milk out for Father Christmas. Last year Chris and I went to the pub on Christmas Eve with our friends and that was really lovely so I think we'll be doing that again this year.

❆ What tops your tree? We had the same angel for ages when I was younger, but now I believe we have a star. A purple star nonetheless.

As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received? When I was a teenager so not even a child but whatevs yolo, I used to put 'a boyfriend' on my list, and then it changed to 'Harry Styles' or 'Niall Horan' depending on whether I was a Harry girl or a Niall girl that year. Just call me desperate. LOLZ.

What's the best part of Christmas for you? The best part about Christmas for me is giving presents to other people and spending Christmas with everyone I love. And the amount of bloody chocolate there is in the house. And it's just a lovely time of year when everyone seems to be in a good mood.

Hope you enjoyed the first day of Blogmas.
I'll see you tomorrow with another blogmas post!

Stay Festive!

Got a nice lovely fashion post for you this evening. Recently I've been try to channel my inner Blair Waldorf, since I'm such a huge fan of Gossip Girl (if you follow me on twitter you'll know it's all I ever really seem to talk about), and I just really wanted to try between now and the end of the year to up my fashion game - not exactly taking a leaf out of Blair's book because I could never pull off some of things she wears but I'm going through that stage at the minute where I want to look nice and presentable, all. the. time. Like I'm some kind of major celeb that doesn't want to be papped in leggings and that old jumper with no make-up on... the only problem? I'm not a major celeb (probs never will be) and no one paps me apart from my fam when I forced them to take these photos. LOL.

All the links below huns. PS, remind me to do fashion posts with only NEW clothes, because it's bloody hard trying to find them oldies.

I have managed to find similar items, so that'll have to do for this I'm afraid.

Blue Jamie Jeans / Topshop | Grey Long Sleeved Tee / Forever 21 (old, similar here) | Denim Jacket / Primark (similar here) | Scarf / Primark | Boots / New Look (old, literally can't find similar ones anywhere!)

Long Grey Jacket / New Look (similar here) | Grey Long Sleeved Top / New Look (old, similar here) | Black Skirt / New Look | Boots / Primark (old, similar here)

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen | MAC Velvet Teddy

I also had my hair coloured by the huns at Nuda Hair Design in Milton Keynes.
Space buns my own, obvs.

I actually found doing a fashion post hard, because I haven't really bought any new clothes apart from the jeans, the denim jacket, the grey jacket which was in the sale and I couldn't find the original anywhere (!) and the black skirt, everything else is well old, so that'll teach me for when I wanna do a fashion post.. new clothes only.. got it.

the travel diaries: B A R C E L O N A 🌞

It's sad to think that when I'm writing this post, this time last week I was in Barcelona with Chris, probably enjoying some tapas and waiting for the gates to open at the Nou Camp where we would watch Barcelona beat Deportivo 4-0. So  I thought I would share with you what I got up to with Chris in Barcelona and try to not feel too blue and also try not to book another holiday.. hmm.

Also I won't mind if you wanna grab a cuppa, it's quite a long post tonight!

Monday, 19 September 2016

Monday is most definitely my favourite day of the week.

And you won't hear many people saying that, but I love it because it's my one day of the week to myself, where I can do whatever I want, although last Monday did feature a lot of tidying my room up and cleaning it which isn't that fun, but I did manage a little trip to Boots, and Superdrug and Primark, so that was nice. And this Monday, here I am writing about it, because guess who's good at delaying things?? *Me*.

Last week, I went for a little shop, only a little one but I did manage to hit up the NYX counter which was a lovely treat because I haven't had time before to stop and browse and normally it's really busy but there was no one there, so I was free to browse.

The ONLY thing that lets Boots down in Northampton is that it's counters are all so messy! They hardly ever seem to be stocked up and there's generally foundation and other products that have gone everywhere and it looks so untidy. But that didn't stop me from looking it just made me kinda sad...

The first thing I picked up was this Liquid Eyeliner from Natural Collection which was £1.99. Somebody had it at a party and I just thought it was really good, there's a lot more product that the one I normally buy from Collection 2000. The only thing I have struggled to get used to has been the longer brush, only because I'm used to a shorter brush with a slightly more sturdier nib, but practice makes perfect, so I'll get back to you on this one...

The next things I picked up were from the NYX counter, and I got these three lip products and a white eyeshadow base. The white eyeshadow base I absolutely love, it  shows up eyeshadow colours a lot better and brighter than without the base. And the lip products are insane, they just don't go anywhere, they literally don't move. I also love the colours, I mean hello autumn, am I right?

I got two soft matte lip creams in the shades Copenhagen and San Paulo, and I got a Liquid Suede Cream lipstick in the shade Kitten Heels. I freakin' love all of them, so much!

Then I headed over to Max Factor where I picked up the 2000 Calorie mascara, before picking up my absolute fave Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I love the Lash Sensational mascara for my top lashes but find the brush is a little too big for my bottom lashes and I found the same with the 2000 Calorie mascara, great for top lashes but not so great for the little lashes, which is fine obvs.

Then I headed to Superdrug, where I absolutely adore the make-up counters because they're so cool and clean and tidy and a really good design . But this is where I was picking things up to build my make-up kit. For those of you who don't know, I am a beauty therapist and often do a lot of wedding make-overs (in fact I had one this Saturday just gone, which was my first one as a freelance beauty therapist/make-up artist) and make-overs for my mum and sister too. When I was in college we got given a make-up kit, that was okay, but normally before I have used a combination of my make-up and either my sister's or my mum's. So I've started to build up a kit, and I know they're only drugstore products but I can't afford high-end make-up yet, sob.

So I picked up this setting spray from L'Oreal, and these three Collection Lasting Perfection concealers in these shades Cool Medium 02, Warm Medium 03 and Dark 04.

And also just added in a Tanya Burr Cosmetics palette because I swatched the shades in the shop and basically fell in love, but this is more for me although I did use it at the weekend because it's just so pretty. The packaging kind of put me off before, I won't lie to you, but the actual product itself is really nice and I should have not judged the product on it's packaging, and it is kinda cute. I just thought it looked a little bit young - but I should have checked the products out before judging and it's my own fault for not realising this sooner. Soz, TB.

So that's today's post, let me know if you've been loving any new beauty products.
See you soon,

I am so ready to get all of the cosy jumpers and boots out of my wardrobe and start wrapping up warm as the weather gets colder. And also who doesn't love a throwback photo from Winter/Autumn 2011/12? Anyway.. unfortunately because we live in England, the weather's pretty messed up and it seems at the minute sometimes it can still be quite warm. So I'm always unsure, should I go for summer clothes or autumn clothes, because what clothes are inbetweeny clothes? I don't know.

But anyway here's a list of things I love about the autumnal months:

Dark Lips (Rimmel 107.. hiya babe)
Hallowe'en - I wish it was bigger in the UK :(
Mustard Jumpers/Coats
Boots (knee high, ankle, all of them)
Cosy jumpers in every single autumn shade ever
Being able to get away with brown lipstick
Crispy leaves on the ground
The feeling that it's closer to Christmas
Not being so sweaty at work doin massage all day
Getting the winter wardrobe ready
Cosy pajamas because who wants to be cold getting out of bed in the morning
Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and marshmellows
The way the air just feels so fresh and crisp and ah the weather in general
AMERICAN HORROR STORY i just hope it's better than season 5 was
Watching scary movies as it gets closer to Hallowe'en
Rainy days that you can spend inside cuddled up watching films
everything being pumpkin flavoured
being able to light candles and have cute fairy lights on
Going to Fright Night

That's what I love about Autumn, let me know what you love!
See you soon,

I know it's been a very long time since I last posted. And I'm not here to make any excuses for myself because I know so many lovely ladies that work full time and still manage to post 2-5 times a week, maybe even more, and run a Youtube channel, as well as keeping up with their social media. So no excuses. Only the fact that I'm too busy at the cinema, at work, with Chris, or just eating. Normally can be found anywhere near food.

And also doesn't this picture just get you so excited for Christmas? All of the Christmas feels.

So basically, life has taken over from the blog. I've had a couple of months out of blogging and now I feel ready to hit the keyboard again and start blogging a lil bit more regularly. I started posting properly on this blog in October and because Autumn is one of my favourite seasons and I just get so inspired, plus Hallowe'en and Christmas are two of my favourite times of year.

I love my blog, and I love blogging and I love meeting loads of lovely bloggers and being part of the community, and I'm not really sure why I've neglected that part of my life recently. How many version of the word 'blog' can you use in a sentence then, huh?

In summary, this has all happened since the end of May.

** I got promoted at work to a Senior Therapist.
** I went on holiday with Chris and his family to Cornwall.
** It was my mum's birthday on the 1st August.
** It was my birthday on the 20th August and I turned 20, in the second decade now don'tcha know?!
** I have seen so many films at the cinema, I can't even count them anymore and it's one of my favourite places to go. (Thank you Cineworld Unlimted card 😍)
** I'm now really excited for Hallowe'en & Christmas because it's September now, and I do love Autumn and a good berry lipstick.
** Chris surprised me with a holiday to Barcelona for my birthday, and we're going in October!! Couldn't have been more shocked about this when I opened it! 🇪🇸
** I've also been playing around with the layout of my blog and changing little bits and I'm finally really happy with it.
And I think that's about it. Anything worth writing down I'm sure, everything else is less interesting, probably work or food related.

But there's a little summary of what I've been up to. From now onwards, I'll keep you updated. With regular blog posts. Not gonna promise anything in case it doesn't happen, but it should as long as I sort my life out, plan things properly and get my shit together.

Love, Danielle xx

Hello everyone!

I hope that you have all had a lovely week! I thought I would share with you some of the ways that you can have the #perfectsundayfunday. When this post goes up I will currently be in hopefully gorgeous sunny London enjoying Chris' birthday present and then maybe enjoying a cocktail or two on a rooftop bar somewhere with the sun shining. I'm hopeful.

In this post I thought I'd share with you how to have the perfect #SUNDAYFUNDAY, because I actually think Sunday is the best day of the week and here's some of my favourite ways to spend it...

This is one of my most favourite ways to spend a Sunday, and it's great for those of you who have to work Monday's (I don't js...). Just pull on some comfy clothes, or stay in your pajama's, or put clean pajama's on, grab the TV remote (Netflix is always a good choice), eat whatever food you want, ur hello chocolate biscuits.. and spend the day doing absolutely nothing, apart from relaxing, eating and binge watching a whole series on Netflix.. oh and who doesn't love having lazy cuddles?

*Not advisable if you have things you need to do. That ironing's not gonna do itself you know...

Because I'm indoors quite a lot of the time, working in the salon, blogging, chilling, eating etc... I really do like getting outdoors when I can. Even if it's just walking the dog (which I did earlier), or going for a picnic (if the weather's nice ofc), or picking a town that you've never been to and going for a day out somewhere different, I would really recommed Stratford-Upon-Avon, it was such a lovely town and there was loads to do! Being outdoors is good for you, so get off your phone/laptop/arse and go and get some fresh air.

If the weathers not that great, get baking! Pick a recipe, go out and buy all of the ingredients that you need, and just bake. Invite your friends, or your partner or your fam to bake with and just go crazy, or bake on your own and surprise everyone with some lovely treats. I love trying new recipes and I love baking, but just make sure that if you live at home you always tidy up afterwards, 'cause I sometimes forget, but I do make some bloomin' lovely cookies. If you want to bake my Chocolate Chunk Cookies, find the recipe for those over HERE.

I am a massive fan of going out for breakfast on a Sunday. It's the one day that Chris and I can go for breakfast together and then it gets you up and about and then you could try out number two and get outside, wink. Whether this is a hungover, greasy fry-up breakfast or slightly more upmarket (you know, I'm talking avo on toast) it doesn't really matter, breakfast on Sunday is great whatever. And if you don't want to go out, just make your own breakfast to enjoy in bed, also just as good.

* My absolute fave places to go for breakfast in Northampton can be found HERE and HERE. *

Sunday is normally the day that everyone has ofs —, unless you work in restaurants, retail or other Sunday based work places, soz — so it's a great day to meet up with friends. Sometimes my friends that go to uni are home at the weekend, and other friends that work during the week aswell that I don't always get to see. And it doesn't have to be anything expensive... meet up with them in the pub garden or in the park (if the weather's nice), go out for a coffee, invite your friends over, cook dinner for them. I don't know, whatever you choose to do, but just make time for friends.

Basically the same as number five, but this time make time for your fam 'cause they're bloody well important. Again you don't have to do much or spend a fortune, just spend the day together or all have dinner together. Sunday is the day to have a roast dinner after all...

Get in the car, with some snacks and some tunes and just go. Go to a new place that you've never been before, whether it's some where you're going shopping, spending the day, or just exploring. The beach is always a good shout. Just go and do it and have fun, take lots of pictures and make memories, even better if you include friends. Me, Chris, Em and Harv went to Hunstanton on Easter bank hol and we had a bloody lovely day, despite the coldness and the wind, but hey, it's England. Day trips to new places are always exciting, and what better day to do it on than Sunday?!

So there's some ideas of how you can have the best Sunday Funday!
